Instruction and Guiding

As a self-taught photographer I know just how difficult it can be making the transition from a 'happy-snapper' to taking photography more seriously.

If you want to learn how to get off the Auto setting and take control then I am here to help. I can de-mystify acronyms like JPEG and RAW, explain what is meant by shutter or aperture control and help you begin to grasp the fundamentals of imaging.

Once you understand a little bit more about your camera and the options available to you we can then progress to using filters and/or taking long exposures.

Alternatively, or additionally, if you just want someone to take you to the iconic sights in Cornwall (or some of the 'under the radar' ones) I can also help. From Boscastle to Botallack, from Penberth to Perranporth, I have been there. Don't waste time trying to get a mobile signal for your Google Maps app (which won't have heard of the location, anyway) but allow me to take you straight there and maximise your time taking photographs. A large van allows for a degree of comfort even for groups. Collections or deliveries to Newquay airport or any of the main railway stations are no problem.

If you don't own a DSLR but would like to have a go with one I am able to provide a camera, lenses, tripod and filters.

For an introductory session (typically some teaching of the fundamentals and then a sunset, 3-4 hours) £50.

For a whole day I charge £80.

For longer or more specific requirements please contact me.
